These Hands People are capable of some amazing things: musical talents, physical talents, thinking processes, building, destroying, writing and the list goes on forever. However, the most amazing thing to me is how people can use their hands. We write, play music, read, draw, flip channels, count, wield various things, drive, climb, and even sacrifice. Your hands, these hands are capable of both amazingly good and terribly bad things. When I look at my hands, even as I type I am in awe of the things that I can do with them. I can pray, shake hands, play guitar, saxophone, clarinet, piano, flip channels on T.V., write letters, dial the telephone, etc . But they can do terrible things to such as offend people, hit people, stab people, touch people, etc. It just blows my mind that we can take something like our own hands, something that God gave us so we can use tools and reach and countless other things, and sin with them and defile them sometimes casually! What a sight it would be to see Christ’s hands and the scars they hold! To see the man that accepted all of God’s wrath for sins past and sins to come and lost his life in the process(?). To think those hands, that we drove through with nails, could reach out for us as we spit on the cross and turn our faces from God! That my friends is Love; not being nice or showing moderate compassion, but raw Love that makes God the personification of Love (1 John 4:8). These hands we have are truly blessed as Jesus’ hands are scared, but if we only weave destruction with them and defile our body we will be cut from God’s kingdom. The Fruit of The Spirit can be grown with the help of our hands (Galatians 5), but it can also be picked and thrown away so cleanse your hands of sin and bless them with the scars of God’s work!
