Belief or Denial? “No way God is real. He was probably some guy named Gery Oryion Demon with the initial G.O.D. and did something great so people worshiped him. It’s happened before. Confucius, Buddha, Allah….there are countless kings and idols that people worship everyday. The bible, anyone can make a lie seem real if they write a book about it and get everyone to believe it once. Then the lie builds off of itself and before you know it, bam! You have Christianity.” Everyone thinks they have it figured out. Even Christians try and fully understand God. “Oh, he is just the most powerful being in the universe. No big deal, besides the whole creator thing.” We proclaim this in our subconscious and continue down our daily comfortable lives. We raise our eyebrows when we hear about God’s miracles and credit it to luck, we take the air we breath and our surroundings for granite, we bicker and attack our loved ones as would dogs; and that applies to Christians and sinners alike! We jump on our high horses and damn those who could one day accept our GOD! After we get done playing our Father’s role for awhile, we jump right back to our sinners and t-bone the holy spirits work...just for fun! All the separates us from sinners in today’s society is one hour on Sunday (if that) and occasional repentance. We are supposed to be the salt of the earth, but when was the last time you heard a sermon on the corner, or in a bar? We’ve slipped into a niche, a comfort zone, and if that zone is within God’s will that’s great, but if it isn’t…who cares?! A train of thought circles around the American Dream, not God’s will. Submitting to God’s will to us is just putting a few extra dollars in the offering plate, or going to see our old relatives once a year! Are all these false accusations? Not to me, because I lived that life. I’ve been a “bad Christian” that is more likely to tear down the kingdom of God then add to it. Why was I and are you this way? We take our focus off God and replace it with money, sex, relationships and other (g)ods. So how do we keep our focus on God? We meditate on his word, we talk to him and have a relationship with his son, we submit EVERYTHING to the holy spirit so he can get rid of our sins and most of all treat others as we would our own child! Do those things and everything will fall into place. You may go broke, lose your job, house, family, friends, but you will have so much joy and be so full of the fruit of the spirit that God will bless you beyond your imagination; maybe not here on earth, but in eternity with him. I lost my innocent heart years ago and I gave it away, but only Jesus can help me get it back and he’ll do the same for you.
